On September 3, Ramón Chaves, Leme’s Executive Manager, visited Maricá to learn about the initiatives of the Secretariat for Citizen Security and discuss potential partnerships that could contribute to strengthening public security in the municipality. During the visit, he met with Secretary Julio Cesar Veras Vieira, a PMERJ Colonel, and visited the headquarters of the Municipal Guard and the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (CIOSP).
Colonel Julio Cesar Veras Vieira is also a participant in the Public Security Leadership Academy, an initiative of Leme in partnership with FGV EBAPE and Universidad EAFIT.
Exchange of experiences on management and technology
The meeting provided an opportunity to learn about Maricá’s public security policies, structures, and investments, with an emphasis on technology, intelligence, and equipment. Discussions focused on integrating these resources into violence prevention and reduction strategies and on the use of data and evidence in management.
During the visit, Ramón visited the headquarters of the Municipal Guard and the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (CIOSP), which brings together video monitoring, license plate reading, facial recognition, incident monitoring, and support for teams in the field.
The visit also addressed the challenges associated with the municipality’s growth and the investments needed to sustain and improve the results achieved in public security. The agenda is part of Leme’s efforts to strengthen ties with public institutions and promote exchanges on security management and policy.
